This page is dedicated to the
wonderful Vietnamese people I have met
Much is owed to the thousands
of young ladies who came in American military bases all over Vietnam every
morning and washed and ironed our clothes, shined our boots, washed our
sheets, made our bed and kept our sleep areas clean. In 1968 Miss Chi in
her early 20s worked in the 561st Medical Company. Picture here
taken in April 2001.
In 1972 Huynh came to Ft.
Rucker, Alabama as one of the cream of the crop South Vietnamese young
army men and learned to fly American helicopters. Pictured here with his
wife and children in April 2001. Am-Viet Technology is very fortunate to
have him as our operations manager and English translator.
December 22, 1967 was the
day Don Trumps arrived in Vietnam for the first time. Within the next few
weeks the famous Tet Offensive 1968 erupted. The battle raged all over the
country. With this as a backdrop, the next 12 months brought many hours of
fear, terror, uncertainties, and loneliness.
A typical battlefield in
Vietnam.
Today
the circumstances are reversed. In the place of guns and bullets, we
bring love and compassion to Vietnam and Vietnamese people. There are
many children born in Vietnam with deformities of all kinds particularly
the facial deformities. We are doing what we can for as many as we can.
